The Paper Players have a great challenge this week. It is a One Layer Valentine.
Here is my card:
All products are Stampin' Up!
Naturals Ivory card stock
Crumb Cake Ink
Cherry Cobbler Ink
Hardwood stamp set
Perfect Pennants stamp set
Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set
Hearts A Flutter Framelits
Modern Label Punch
I made masks by die cutting the heart and punching the modern label and temporarily attached them to the front of the card. Then I stamped the Hardwood image and removed the masks. I also sponged around the modern label and inside the heart before stamping the images.

January Paper Pumpkin
Each month, around the middle of the month, I receive a surprise in the mail. It is called Paper Pumpkin.
Paper Pumpkin is a monthly kit from Stampin' Up! that provides the paper, envelopes, stamps and ink to create various projects. All you supply is adhesive.
This kit is great for those of you who are new to stamping. For a modest cost, you receive the supplies and instructions to create projects, as well as begin to build up a supply of inks and stamps for future projects.
For those of you who are experience stampers, this kit provides you with the opportunity to create a project or a few quick cards with no preparation time at all.
Paper Pumpkin arrives in the mail and you can just sit down, open your surprise and enjoy a little carefree stamping time. And you don't have to create the project exactly as described if you don't want to. There are enough embellishments to be creative and do your own thing as I did below. The suggested card was Crumb Cake color on the outside, but I flipped it and did the opposite. I did 2 cards in Crumb Cake, one in the Strawberry and One in the Turquoise. Four cards in all with envelopes in less than an hour!
Here is the January Paper Pumpkin Kit called Love Notes
There is a special promotion on Paper Pumpkin right now. If you sign up, you will receive a free set of markers.

Split Negative Technique
I have had the World Treasures stamp set for a while now and never used it. I saw Patsy Waggoner demonstrate a split negative technique with the peacock and was so impressed I just had to try it. Here is the link to Patsy's instruction:
Stamps To Die For
I thought I would pair the technique with the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge this week:

Pals January 2014 Blog Hop
Welcome to our first blog hop of 2014. This month we are excited to show you the new products available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog as well as a preview of the free products you can earn through Sale-a-bration at the end of January.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Nicole Watt at Pixel Maven's Retreat, #14 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
I used the new Stamp Set and matching punch called Petite Petals to create the little flowers on my tag. The Petite Petals is bundled with the matching punch in the new catalog to save you 15%.
The tag on my card was cut using the new Angled Tag Topper Punch.
The sentiment is from the Simply Celebrate stamp set which coordinates wit hthe Celebrations Basics Kit, but each of the sentiments are great on their own.
And the new Embossing Folder, Decorative Dots, is part of the Sale-A-Bration event and is yours free, with a $50 purchase, during Sale-A-Bration event January 28th to March 31st.
Using Whisper White card stock, I brayered some Crisp Cataloupe ink on the inside of the embossing folder to create the white decorative dots. The leaves are punched in Pistachio Pudding card stock, using the Owl Builder Punch. The water spots are from Gorgeous Grunge. Other accessories are the Basic Pearls, Taffeta Ribbon and White Baker's Twine. Be sure to check out the new catalog, it is the best yet!
The next stop is Katy McGloin at Just Fun Stamping, #16, on the Pals Blog Hop!

Awesome Thanks
I have been trying to blog a little more often as part of my New Year's Resolution. I have not determined what my schedule is going to be just yet, but as I created a new card, I am resolved to post it.
I have been using the new DSP, Retro Fresh, quite a bit this week. It is fun paper and I am having a good time with it. The Framelits Banners are also making repeat appearances this week
Here is a video showing these new Framelits.
Banners Framelits
You can find both the Retor Fresh and the Banners in the new Occasions Catatlog (see the PDF below). If you would like a catalog, send me an email and I will get one out to you.
Well, here is a thank you card in Retro Fresh with an Early Espresso card base. The color in the DSP is Baked Brown Sugar, but I liked the contrast of the Early Espresso. The sentiment is from Yippee-Skippee!

Thank you cards with Sweet Sorbet
Sale-A-Bration is coming soon. It begins on January 28th. I made a few Thank You cards using the Designer Series Paper (DSP) Sweet Sorbet. This is one of the best DSPs ever and it is free with a $50 product order as part of the Sale-A-Bration Promotion.
And that is $50 spent on any product in either of the catalogs or the Sale-A-Bration flyer.
And every additional $50 you spend, wil earn you another free Sale-A-Bration product!
Check out this pretty DSP:
I used the Whisper White for the card bases. But you might consider purchasing the Stampin' Up! note cards to save you time. The cards and envelopes come in a set of 20 (131527) for $5.95. Then it is just a matter of decorating the cards with this beautiful paper.

I cut the banners with the Banner Framelits set and used the Label Love and Label Something stamp sets.
The punches used are the Artisan Label and the 7/8 inch scallop.
If you have any questions or need a catalog, just email me.
