Festival of Prints

On page 20 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog there is a pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP) called Festival of Prints.  This is a beautiful and very versatile collection of designs-not just for holidays, although they work very well for Holiday Cards.  The paper measures 4.5 X 6.5 and the stack has 48 double sided sheets.  I used two of the "greens" for the desk calendar below.

I CASEd this project I saw on Angie Kennedy Juda's Facebook page. http://www.mychicnscratch.com/2012/08/candlelight-christmas-coaster-calendar.html  Isn't it cute?  And those designs in the Festival of Prints stack work out great for this project.  You can purchase the PDF for the calendar with cutting instructions on her website.  Thanks Angie-love it!

Stampin' Up!'s Most Popular Stamp Set

We learned at the Regional Event last Saturday  that Stampin' Up!'s most popular stamp set today is
Papillion Potpourri

I used the largest butterfly from this set on this card.

And, no, I did not cut out that butterfly with my snips.  Stampin' Up! offers the Elegant Butterfly punch to go along with this set.
Other products used: Kindness Matters stamp set and Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.

Two Tags Box

The Stampin' Up! Regional yesterday was more than I could have ever imagined.  There was a  gathering of 475 talented individuals from all over the region, getting together for a day of information and camaraderie.  And stamping! It was so much fun!  The day just flew by.

I have posted one of the Make and Takes from yesterday's event.  It is called the Two Tags Box and it is a little treat box that can hold note cards, candy or any other little thing that you might want to put in there.

It is made with two tag die cuts from SU's Two Tags Bigz Die for the Big Shot.  My favorite part of this little box is the Gumball Green Dahlia in the center of the flower.

This little box can be easily changed up to be a Halloween Goody Box or a favor for a party, shower, wedding, etc.

Call me and we can set up a class to make the Two Tag Box customized for whatever occasion you would like.

The Providence Regional

There is a Stampin' Up! Regional Event at the Convention Center tomorrow.  I plan to attend and enjoy the day stamping, learning new ideas and techniques and meeting other Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators.

There will be an opportunity to "Swap".  This is an optional activity of exchanging projects with other demonstrators.  I intend to participate.  I prepared 50 swaps for tomorrow.

I'll let you know all the details when I get back.

PPA 141 Lovely as a Tree

Sketch Challenge

I have wanted to get the Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree set for the longest time and never got around to it.  Well, I finally bought it and didn't use it until today.  I needed a design with some length to it to fill the four background shapes, 2,3.4, and 5.

I opted for a 6X6 card.  I don't usually use this size so this was a new experience.

The tress are stamped in Crunb Cake on SU retired Confetti Cream.

Bag Lady Strikes Again

I am having loads of fun with Stampin' Up! Embossing Folders and the Halloween Stamps.  There are just so many variations...the possibilities are endless.  Here are two examples using the Spider Web Folder and the Wicked Cool and Toxic Treats stamp sets.  The DSP closure is Howlstooth and Scaringbone from the Holiday Catalog.

Because you run the entire bag through the Big Shot inside the folder, the sides and the back are also embossed!  Wicked Cool!

Back to the work room to see how to incorporate those Googly Ghouls with their Googly eyes into this project.

Make Something that Means Something

Have you had the opportunity to see the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog yet?  The products, tools and projects are just outstanding this year.  From the moment I saw the cover, I knew that I just had to make the Christmas Ornament pictured.  Here it is:

It may look very complicated, but it is very easy to make.  Here is a photo of the back of the ornament:

Sometimes you need a little something during the holidays for your work buddies, your hairdresser, nail tech, etc., and this ornament is just perfect.  It is a hand-made item that helps to say  "Merry Christmas".

Stampin' Up! has bundled the stamp set "Ornament Keepsakes" and the "Holiday Ornaments" Framelits Dies to save you some money.

Email or call if you would like to learn more or host a workshop to make this ornamnet.
droberts1252@COX.NET  OR 401-862-5786.  We are four months and one week from Christmas!

Be of Good Cheer

I love making things for Christmas; cards, bags, tags, ornaments, you name, I love to make it.
This year, my favorite DSP from Stampin' Up! is in the Annual Catalog and its called Be of Good Cheer.  It has a great selection of patterns and is made up of Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Very Vanilla.

I CASEd Mary Fish's Matchbook gift card holder with this DSP and the Delightful Decorations stamp set.

I just love these colors!  If you wold like to make this, book a workshop with me and this can be one of the projects we make!

Pals August Blog Hop

Glad you could join us for some holiday crafting with the Stampin' Pretty Pals! You've probably hopped over from Kim Czenszak at Live Love Stamp.   I'm stop number 12 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in!  I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for Stampin' Up! projects featuring the new Holiday catalog!  Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track.
Just call me the Bag Lady.  I had so much fun creating these holiday goodie bags using new products from the new Holiday Catalog and I can't wait to fill them for gift giving this holiday season.  These bags are just plain craft sacks that have been transformed using Stampin' Up Embossing Folders and embellishments from the new Holiday Catalog.
The two brown bags were embossed using the Holiday Frame Embossing Folder on page 7 of the catalog.  Then, using The Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set, also on page 7, I stamped the oval interior frame and decorated with the holly leaves and bow, all images in this set.  The sentiment is also from this set.  The inks are Old Olive and  "in color" Raspberry Ripple.  The DSP is Be Of Good Cheer and the ribbon is Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots.

The White Bag is embossed with the Northern Flurry embossing folder.  I highlighted the embossed snowflakes using the snowflake image from my absolute favorite stamp set in the Holiday Catalog-Mixed Medley on page 39.  This hostess set is a "must have."   It has Christmas, Halloween, Valentine and General designs and it uses the New 1 1/4" inch Scallop Punch on page 7!  And this set includes the inner circle designs "for you" and "Merry Christmas" as well.  I just love this set!  The bag is tied with the new 3 1/2' Scalloped Tulle Ribbon on page 4 of the Holiday Catalog.  This is the Crunb Cake Color.
Now hop along for more inspiring ideas from Claire Crotteau-Hutt at stamppaperscissors, stop number 13 on the Pals Holiday Catalog Blog Hop! Thanks for "hopping" by!

Delightful Decorations

Delightful Decorations are so, so, so delightful.  I was so happy that this set was selected to remain in the 2012-2013 Catalog.  I am using the set for my next Workshop.  Because it is paired with a matching punch, we can craft a WOW card at a workshop in quick time.

Based on the concept of 4 parts, like the intricate ornament on the  cover of the Holiday Catalog, this ornament image is stamped 4 times.  Then the 4 images are punched out with the matching punch, and three of the images are scored down the center.  Finally the 4 sections are glued together.

If you need to mail this card, the ornament can be folded flat to fit into the envelope and then popped up again when it is opened.

Cardstock is Gumball Green, Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler
DSP is Be Of Good Cheer
Stamp Sets Delightful Decorations and Curley Cute
Cherry Cobbler Stamp Pad
Cherry Cobler Baker's Twine
Punches: Ornament Punch and Scallop Edge Border Punch

The Summer Cold

Its seems like so long since my last post!  So much going on.  Anyway, I have received lots of new products from the Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog, and I don't know where to start.  I want to use everything all at once!  There are so many ideas racing through my head right now, that I have to slow down and work on one idea at a time.  But I am a bit foggy.

My allergies are acting up this week and many of you are being affected by the same.  I know a few of you have summer colds as well, so, this is for all of you suffering with the dreaded summer sniffles.   Hang in There!
