PPA 151

PPA 151 is a sketch challenge: I was tempted to put the design on a top note die cut; but I resisted the urge.
PPA151 Sketch Here is my card using the Stampin' Up! Stamp set "Love and Sympathy" on Whisper White and Basic Black.

Pals Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for the first Pals Blog Hop of 2013! Today the Stampin' Pretty Pals are excited to introduce you to new Stampin’ Up! products that are available in the Spring Catalog. We hope you find inspiration and ideas for using the new stamps, papers and accessories.
You should have just left stop number 8 on the Pals Hop - Jennifer Takacs at Stamped In FullIf so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
Here we are in 2013 with a brand new Stampin' Up! catalog.  The new products that I have used from this catalog are:

The White Tea Lace Doilies
That's the Ticket Stamp Set
The Vine Street Embossing Folder

can you spot them?

This is an old-fashioned Valentine's card; one that you hand to your valentine.  As you can see, this one will not go through the mail in an envelope; you 'd have to insert in into a small box.

I used four White Tea Doilies to build the flower.  I spritzed the card front with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.  Other Stampin' Up! products used:

1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon-Cherry Cobbler
Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White Card Stock
Ticket Duo Builder Punch
Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine
Cherry Cobbler Scallop Tulle Ribbon
Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set
Fashionable Hearts Embosslets

Check out the new offerings in the spring catalog and get started on your special valentines.
The next stop is Kim Czenszak at Live Love Stamp, stop number 10 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope

    Pals Paper Arts PPA150

Hello 2013.  I have been away from posting too long (since the last Blog Hop).  I am happy to be back.  We have a new year and new opportunities to participate in challenges.

This week's challenge is a color challenge.

    PPA Color Challenge January

I used Stampin' Up!'s Basic Black card stock and Melon Mambo and Basic Gray DSP from the Brights and Neutrals Paper Stacks.  The flower was punched from the SU Blossoms Petals Builder punch and the center is a SU Antique Brad. I built this flower from 16 scored petals assembled with hot glue on the SU silicone pad. This flower was inspired by Mary Fish's Water Lily flower in a post from last July.  You just never know when something you've seen comes back to you as inspiration.

The ribbon is the 3/8 Taffeta Ribbon is Basic Black.

My favorite part of this card is from the new That's The Ticket stamp set available in the new Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog that goes live today!  If not for this challenge, I would never have stamped that image in the Jet Black StazOn ink.  But I did and I really like the outcome!  And the coordinating Ticket Duo Builder punch makes this sentiment a snap!
