Good as Gold Revisited

I showed the Sale-A-Bration Good as Gold kit in a previous post. (January 13, 204)  I showed the 3.5" X  5" Thank You cards that are in the kit.

I just love the DSP in this kit, so I made a standard size card using the elements of the kit and some of the supplies I have on hand to make this birthday card.

That's the great thing about crafting.  There is always the opportunity to do things a little differently to make the design your own to fill your own personal need.

Well, here is a heat embossed sentiment on some silver embossed vellum that will convey that message for you beautifully.  Add some silver foil card stock,  silver ribbon and rhinestones and you might just have a perfect valentine for that Fabulous someone.

The Paper Players Sketch Challenge, with a tag

The Paper Players sketch this week immediately brought to mind a Valentine with M&Ms.  I wanted the tag to open and close the back of a circle treat cups so the recipient could access the candy without destroying the card.

Here is  the card before I filled it with candy  and the tag

Here are the inside views, before and after filling the treat cup.

The candy is not heavy, so the tag holds the candy in place.  If it is going in the mail, I would put a mini glue dot at the bottom of the tag to hold the tag  in place.

Watercolor Paper

First let me say that I do love Watercolor Paper.  When I use it for an image, I am always in a quandary about whether to use Whisper White or Very Vanilla Card Stock for my base.  Today I chose Whisper White because I wanted to use some DSP from Quartrefancy.

Stamp sets are Petite Pairs and Best of Sale-A-Bration.

Remember:  Tuesday, January 28th, is the day Sale-A-Bration begins!

PPA 189

It is Thursday and time for a Pals Paper Arts challenge

Won't you join us and play along?
Here is the sketch:
And here is my card:

Now here is my story.  This was not my first card for the challenge and, as often is the case, I make multiple cards and choose the one I like the most for my submission.  I liked this version the best and thought I submitted it.

I goofed  and submitted the wrong card from my files.  This is the card I actually submitted:
The sentiment is harder to see in the second card; it looks better in person. That is why I decided to try stamping the sentiment stamped in black and submitting that one (or so I thought).   Oh well, it just goes to show you, the more cards you make, the more you learn. And you not only learn about stamping, you learn about file organization.

However, no card is ever wasted.  Both cards will be sent to wish friends a Happy Easter!

The card stock is Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe.
DSP is Sweet Sorbet from Sale-A-Bration.
Stamp set is Eggstra Spectacular
Oval Framelits
Basic Jewel Pearls and Candy Dots

Happy Stamping!

Life is Wonderful

Banner Kitties.  I have seen the banners as cats and dogs and owls so I thought I would try some banner kitties myself.

All products are Stampin' Up!  The card stock is Crumb Cake.  I used Linen Thread, some sponging, some embossing folders, the Banners Framelits, Perfect Pennants stamp set and some Candy Dots.  And the wonderful Owl Builder Punch for the eyes.

Happy Stamping!

P.S.  After I posted, I remembered something I wanted to post-my inspiration-here are pictures of my wallpaper border in my work room--

Now you can see where my kitties came from.
