Mojo Monday 332

The weekend is over and it is time for  Mojo Monday.  Because I am a Monday-Friday, "9-5-er" I generally do not look forward to Monday, except for Mojo Monday.

I have only recently begun participating, and I totally enjoy these challenges.  Do yourself a favor and give it a try; you'll be glad you did.

Here is my card for this week:

I saw Mary Fish's post today where she realized she had not made a valentine for her daughter.  Her statement made me realize that I had not saved a valentine card for my husband.  So this card is for him.  And don't worry, he never reads my blog, so he will be surprised on Friday!

All products are Stampin' Up!  The ink is Sahara Sand and Real Red and the card stock is Crumb Cake.

The Shopping Trip

The Paper Players Have a color challenge this week.

Midnight Muse, Crisp Cantaloupe and Gold are the colors of the challenge this week.  Even though Nance gave us this photo for inspiration, my inspiration came from hearing that she was on a shopping trip with her Mom and her daughter; three generations of gals.  I imagined what they looked at, what they bought, and tried to wrap it all in packages tied with Baker's Twine.   So here is my card:

Happy Birthday Cooper

My husband's grandson Cooper turns three years old this month.  Here is a birthday card I cased from Dawn Olchefske's  Birthday Balloons video.

The balloons are punched with the small oval punch and the balloon ends are the feet from the Owl builder punch.  The Birthday Basics DSP is a must have for birthday cards for young and old.
I stamped the "3"s with the Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamp Set.

Organizing Framelits Dies

Are you beginning to accumulate multiple sets of Framelits Dies and looking for an easy and economical storage solution?

I store my Framelits in their original packaging, but I insert a 4.5" X 6" piece of magnetic material in the package to secure my dies in place.

See my video below:

The Other Side

In yesterday's post I used the DSP Venetian Romance for my Mojo Monday card.  When I was cleaning up tonight (I always clean up the next night) I noticed that the flip side of the DSP would have worked very nicely with the sketch.  So I used the sketch again for a totally different card!

I hope you will give the  Mojo Monday  challenge a try.  Happy Stamping!

Mojo Monday 331

The best way to become a more accomplished stamper or card-maker is to participate in challenges.  I am trying to participate in more challenges in 2014 and Mojo Monday is always a fun challenge.

Be My Valentine

This week The Paper Players  theme challenge is Sweet Treats.  So I set out to create a Valentine card or 3-D project with a "food or treat" theme.

I made a cover for a candy bar with a decorated tag for a belly band closure.

I used Stampin' Up! Christmas DSP from last year. I have found that you can usually use Christmas paper for Valentine projects. Real Red is Real Red, right?

I used the new Spiral Flower Die to make the roses.  I also used Stampin' Up!'s retired P.S. I Love You for the sentiment that decorated the tag background and the tiny hanging part of the tag.

This is the back of the tag / belly band that holds the cover closed.

And then I added the candy.

Happy Stamping!

Cool Technique Alert

One of my fellow Stampin' Up! demos, Tanya Bell,  posted a video showing how to create a card closure with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  Here is her YouTube video.

And here is my card using that technique

Don't you just this closure!  Thanks, Tanya!
And how cute is that stamp from the Hostess Set "Making a Point".
