All That's New

Thank you for joining us for the June Pals Blog Hop and our kickoff to the new catalog! Are you ready to see wonderful creations featuring new products from the 2013-14 Stampin' Up! catalog? Get ready to update your wish list!

You should have just left stop number 18, Brian King at Stamp with Brian,  www.stampwithbrian.com  on the Pals Hop.   If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

I decided to use all the five new In Colors from the New Catalog.  Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush.   I used the new Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Mosaic Madness stamp set and the matching Mosaic Punch.  Check out page 123 of the new catalog to save 15% when you bundle the stamp set and punch.  The sentiments are from Loving Thoughts.

The next stop is Martie Pollard at The Crafty Bandit, www.craftybandit.com, stop number 20 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!

PPA160 A Color Challenge

PrimroseGumballWhite

This week's challenge is a Color Challenge
http://www.palspaperarts.com/2013/06/ppa160-a-color-challenge.html

My card uses the Triple Stamping Technique.  You stamp your design on 3 pieces of neutral card stock and then mat each piece with another piece of matching card stock.  You may remember I made one in earth tones with leaves (SU Gently Falling) last fall for the Pals September Blog Hop.  http://scoreatfourandaquarter.blogspot.com/2012/09/pals-fall-flair-blog-hop.html

This time around I used Stampin' Up!'s Stippled Blossoms and Flowering Flourishes stamp sets.  I did a lot of "Stamping Off " on this card.  "Stamping Off" is the technique of inking up the stamp, stamping the image once on a scrap piece of paper and then stamping it again on the project (without re-inking). I stamped off when stamping the Gumball Green background with the Flowering Flourishes so that the background would be subtle.

Stippled Blossoms is a 2 Step Stamping Set and is usually used with two colors close in color.  I had only Primrose Petals to work with so I stamped the lighter color image by stamping off the Primrose Petals once for step 1 of the image and then inked and stamped  Primrose Petals for part 2.

The sentiment on the front of the card is SU Petite Pairs and the inside sentiment is from SU Best of Birthdays.  I also used Primrose Petals Dahlias.

Post Script:  After I posted my card I went to Ann Schach's blog and learned that that I should have stamped off 3 times on the Stippled Blossoms.  That is why I love to participate in these challenges; there is so much opportunity for learning.  Thanks PPA!

Happy Father's Day

For the Paper Players Challenge
http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2013/05/challenge-147-leannes-sketch.html

The Card stock is Stampin' Up!'s Midnight Muse and Crumb Cake.  The DSP is from SU Print Poetry and the Neutrals Paper Stack.  The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Other Stampin' Up! products are the Modern Label Punch and Linen Thread.

Gingham Garden

Here is a super quick project:  Cover a Composition Notebook with some Designer Series Paper (DSP) to make yourself a special notebook.  I will use this one at work for meeting notes.  Stampin' Up!'s new DSP Gingham Garden will brighten up my office for spring.

Just cut the DSP the size of your notebook cover and glue to the front and back.  Before you place the binding on the side of the notebook add some ribbon for a bookmark.  I used Stampin' Up! Island Indigo.

I used some of SU's Gingham Garden Washi Tape to decorate the Binding.  There you have it-quick and simple!

CAS Masculine

This is my submission for the Paper Players Clean and Simple (CAS) Masculine challenge.
http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2013/05/challenge-146-anns-clean-and-simple.html

I used Stampin' Up!'s Epic Day This and That  DSP and the coordinating Epic Day stickers. The "ticket" is cut out of Epic Day DSP.  The cardstock is SU Gumball Green.  The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Basic Gray.

Love the New Strawberry Slush

Stampin' Up! has a new catalog!  If you would like a copy of the new catalog, email me (droberts1252@cox.net) and I will be sure that you get one.  One of the new "In Colors" is Strawberry Slush.   This is the featured color in my card today for the PPA Sketch Challenge.

Here is the sketch:
PPA159w-frame
and here is my card:

I cropped a portion of Stampin' Up!'s Pleasant Poppies stamp and used SU Perfectly Penned set for the sentiment.
The DSP and the Washi Tape are both SU Gingham Garden.  The ink and the cardstock is Strawberry Slush.  I am loving this new in color.

More with Strawberry Slush:

This card uses the Wildflower Meadow stamp set and embossing folder.  Look for the bundle in the new catalog and save 15%.

And here's another variation.  As I always say, if you are making one card, why not make a few variations \to have on hand for those cards you need in a hurry.

Happy Stamping!

May Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for the May Pals Blog Hop and our annual retirement party! It's time to say goodbye to stamps and accessories that will not be available in the new 2013-14 Stampin' Up! catalog. Although it's always sad to see wonderful products retire, it is exciting to think about all of the new products that will soon be available. So enjoy the farewell tour for our favorite retiring products - and remember you have until June 3rd to order from the retiring product lists.

You should have just left stop number 18 on the Pals Hop
  • Debbie Mageed at Scrappin' and Stampin'

  •  If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

I am going to miss my favorite DSP collection, Comfort Cafe.
The two stamp sets I used are also retiring, Kindness Matters and Curly Cute.

I used Curly Cute on the inside of the card.

I have used the Curly Cute sentiments on almost All of my Thank You and Birthday Cards.  (If you want some good advice, I suggest purchasing a Curly Cute set while they are still available.  You won't be sorry; it is a very versatile sentiment set to own)

        The next stop is
