Season Greetings

Earlier this month I was blogging about getting our Christmas Cards done early this year.  Well, today I am posting another card for the holiday season.

I was inspired by the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  Here is the sketch:

Paper Pumpkin Pinwheels

Today I am finishing up my 24 Pinwheel Goodie Bags for my buddies at work, courtesy of this month's Paper Pumpkin.

Have you subscribed to paper Pumpkin yet? Each month you receive a box that comes with everything you need to complete the project of the month.

This month we received all the supplies to complete 24 Pinwheels. We also received the goodie bags! I struggled to find Red, White and Blue candy to fill the bags, but settled on Jolly Rancher Reds, White Lifesavers and York Peppermint Patties.

If you haven't subscribed to paper Pumpkin yet, I have included a video today that demonstrates how to cut and assemble a pinwheel without the kit.  It is so much easier to let Stampin' Up! gather all the supplies, do the cutting, and sent it to your door!  But here's how you can do it:

Sketch Frenzy Friday

Here is the sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday

And here is the link to play:  Sketch Frenzy Friday

This sketch gave me the opportunity to use my new Hearts and Stars Decorative Masks from Stampin' Up!

This mask is great to work with.  I always change my mind about what I am going to do on a card design as I go along.  That happened on this card.  At first, I had only a small stream of masked stars flowing up to the upper right.  Then I removed the mask, and decided I wanted more,  and then more.  In short, the mask got re-applied 4 times, with no problem at all.  I ran the mask under the faucet each time and gave it a quick wipe and few minutes before I used it again.  Love it!

I used Very Vanilla here with Lost Lagoon for a subtle look, but I think it would be very striking on Whisper White.

Also, I used two sentiments on the front of the card and I think this is a first for me.  I thought these two sentiments together just make a very strong statement.

All products are Stampin' Up and are listed below.

Perfect Peacock Week

I have been stamping peacocks all week.  On Saturday I colored the peacock with Blendabilities, yesterday I stamped in Blackberry Bliss and today I embossed in black and white.

I also wanted to get that "peacock" color in, so I colored these pearls with Coastal Cabana.

Here are my peacock cards from earlier in the week:

Perfect Peacock part two

Do you remember my Peacock from Saturday's post?  Well, some of you thought that the coloring was too much to do.

Here is another version of the Perfect Peacock.  This time I have stamped the image in Blackberry Bliss and then used the aqua painter to color everything in blackberry, except the leaves.  I painted the leaves with Pear Pizzazz.

Then I used the Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle to brighten up the tail.  If you want to make the card very special, use the small rhinestones.

You Did It!

Here is a card for this week's Paper Players's Sketch Challenge.
Here is the link: The Paper Players

Here is the sketch:

This is a really neat sketch, so why do you give it a whirl?  If you are new to card making, let me tell you a little bit about how I came to create my card.  And remember, the sketch is just a starting point; a suggestion.

First I decide what colors I am going to use, according to my current stash and what I feel like working with.  I am not a "color" person so I usually go monochromatic.  However, today I decided to use two colors; Pistachio Pudding and Lost Lagoon.  That was dictated when I chose the DSP from the All Abloom paper stack.  The color combination was chosen for me.  That made the rest easy.

I continued with the two colors, a shape, a sentiment and a little bit of bling.  Presto, here's my card:

And that's all there is to it!  All products Stampin' Up! (listed below)

Perfect Peacock

Does your workspace get crazy while you are creating a card?

Mine does.  Here is a video that shows some of the mess while I explain how this card came together.

Born to be Loved

Here is a quick card for a new baby.  I used Strawberry Slush, but Pistachio Pudding, Daffodil Delight, or Marina Mist would work just as nicely.

The stamps sets are Something for Baby, Groovy Love and Itty Bitty Banners.  The framelits used are Itty Bitty Banners and Baby's First.

I cut two onesies (is that an oxymoron ?), put a dimensional in the inside middle and glued the two together with the hanger inside.  You can actually take the hanger off the clothesline,
