PPA68 The Covered Bridge

Clean and Simple with a bit of ribbon.  I've used my new Covered Bridge stamp again from Impression Obsession, Inc., this time on Gold Metallic paper.  I stamped with black onyx Versafine ink and colored here and there with white prismacolor pencil.

Color Challenge PPA67

This was a difficult color combination for me.
Ppa67pic

I used The Covered Bridge Stamp by Impression Obsession on a gray metallic paper and black onyx Versafine, but used the dull side to stamp the image. I used white Prismacolor pencil here and there with a tiny touch of white glitter.

The designer paper is Stampin up. Afetr I punched the red SU modern label shape, I cut it in half and folded it to make the "hinges" on the side of the card. The sentiment is SU and it is stamped on the SU Decorative Label shape.

The Scalloped Edge Border is also SU.

PPA65 Bring on the Bling -Fabulous Friend

Gotta love the bling and who better than Marilyn as Lorelei Lee to inspire us for this weeks PPA challenge.

For this card I used Recollections cardstock from the Precious Metals collection.  I used the silver for the card and I used the white for everything else.  This paper gives everything a nice shimmer that I don't think is captured in my photo.

I embossed the background with the Sizzix Snowflake #6 embossing folder.  I used the Stampin Up! Simple Snowflake punch for the raised snowflakes and the new Stamping Up! scalloped oval punch under the sentiment.  The Sentiment is 'fabulous friend' from Stampin Up! "Oval All."  When I saw the photo, I could hear Marilyn singing about a girl's best friend, so that was the perfect sentiment for this challenge.   After I stamped fabulous friend, I then re-stamped a tiny snowflake over the flower and finished with the tiniest Stampin Up! Rhinestone.

I tried and tried to work some Marabou into the design; I even trimmed some of the marabou off and glued it to a ribbon to embellish the design to get that "Marilyn" look, but I just couldn't work it in.  Oh well.  I never realized just how many snowflake stamps I have until I started this challenge.  Thanks for the opportunity to play PPA!

Totally Totebag

From the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/news/comments.php?id=1160_0_1_0_C, here is my attempt at the Totally Totebag.  I stamped leaves on the cardstock with Versafine Vintage Sepia.  It is my submission for the PPA64-Fall Inspiration.

VW Christmas

This card is for PPA61 - A Sketchy Challenge

Ppa 61 sketch

I thought I would try something with a Thanksgiving theme, but I have this new VW stamp and just wanted to use it, so, Merry Christmas!  I miss my old VW.

I don't know who makes the stamp, it is not identified, but the bar code reads: 2-2152 Holiday Car.

I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black on Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla and colored with Prismacolor pencils.
I ran the very vanilla and red cardstock through the Sizzix Big Kick using the Scallop Oval Fame.  I then stamped some tiny snowflakes on the red base and very vanilla scallop to match the cardstock (or least give the illusion that the snowflakes matched the paper).  Then I put the pieces back together.  I stamped the VW on the Very Vanilla oval and then punched it out with the SU wide oval punch.  I then cut a 2.25 inch red oval on the Cricut to back the VW image.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! set Best Yet.

Wicked PPA 60

PPA60 - Halloween Inspiration Challenge - the instruction is : Our two favorite witches from the musical Wicked are spreading the word that PPA’s theme this week is Halloween! We’re sure these two ladies have something wickedly fabulous planned for the big day.   Join in the fun and show us your spooktacular Halloween creations!

Wicked

I was truly inspired by this Wicked poster this week and I am posting the resulting card.  I loved the combination of black, white and fright green, along with that tiny slice of red lipstick..

I used the Cricut Wild Card to cut the argyle / lattice and stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.
The spirit of Halloween is with us for more than just one night, so I used the "October Nights" to designate the whole hauntingly delightful season.

Follow Your Heart

OK, so I am trying to learn to color. A few weeks ago, courtesy of Maryann at Bella Art in Johnston, RI, I was privileged to take a class with Nathalie Metivier from Magenta Style. I learned a lot. Most importantly, I learned how much there is to learn. Needless to say, I am a beginner but I intend to keep plugging along.

This is one of the many reasons I am so appreciative of businesses like Bella Art, Stampin Up! demonstrators and Pals Paper Arts for helping inexperienced individuals to develop crafting skills. I especially enjoy participating in these PPA challenges. This is my submission for PPA58-Pretty in Pearls.

Because I need to practice coloring, I chose this large Inkadinkado design. I colored the image and then set about to find card stock and and a sentiment. In retrospect, I will choose paper first next time and then color the design.

I used Prismacolor pencils for the coloring, American Craft card stock from the Autumn and Christmas packs and the sentiment is from Stampin Up!'s Whimsical Words set. I used a sponge dauber and some pink chalk on the edges of the white cardstock on the design and on the heart and dimensionals to pop up the heart. I used some self-adhesive pearls on the little flowers, the lace and on the heart.

Thank you PPA for the opportunity and the motivation to be creative.

Groovy

Here we have a card for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge PPA55. This is a color challenge, namely turquoise, melon and daffodil. As it happens, I just finished a birthday card for a friend's birthday and I think my color combination is very close to the color challenge, so I am submitting this card.

The stamp set is a retired Stampin' Up set called "Groovy" that I found on Ebay. The friend is turning 60, so I think he will appreciate the sentiment, "Hippie Birthday!"

The card style is a TRI Shutter Card . I saw a tutorial at The Craftiblog http://craftiblog.wordpress.com/2009/04/23/2009-04-23-quad-fold-card-sample-tutorial/
that was very well done. This tutorial enable me to be successful at the TRI Shutter design. I really enjoyed having so many sections to decorate because this stamp set has nine images from which to choose.

Thank you PPA for all these fun challenges. I have some spare time between semesters so I am enjoying being able to participate.

Isn't it time we got together? PPA 54

Hello. Here we have my second attempt at a Pals Paper Arts challenge.

This is PPA54-A Masculine KISS.

As I am a big Alice in Wonderland fan, TJ Designs "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" is one of my favorite stamp sets.

The White Rabbit is stamped with with Stampin' Up's Close to Cocoa on Stampin' Up's Naturals Ivory card stock. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, also stamped in Close to Cocoa.

The stripes are from Mambi Color Basics. The sentiment was punched with Stampin' Up's Designer Label, and the edges sponged with Close to Cocoa. Both the sentiment and the White Rabbit are attached to the card with dimensionals.

You're Too Kind PPA 48

This is a first attempt at posting a card for a PPA Challenge.

The stamps are:
TJ Designs - Mad Hatter's Tea Party
Sylvia Yu - Thank you Circle
Stampin' Up - Whimsical Words.

The Ink is Stampin Up - Not Quite Navy.

I used a Navy Blue card stock. Stampin' Up Naturals Ivory and SU Ruby Red are the other two card stock colors. I ran the Natural Ivory through my Big Kick using a Sizzix embossing folder called Flowers Large.

The ribbon is called Bridal Inspirations, is slightly wired and I found it in the bridal section at a Joann's retail store.

The Thank You circle was punched with the SU 1.25 inch circle punch and the navy was punched with the SU scallop punch. I used dimensionals under each image.

The Ruby Red strip was punched with a SU border punch.
