A Simple Thank You

Here is a very simple Thank You card made with two stamps; Watercolor Thank You and Blended Bloom.

This is a fun card if you like to color.  I find coloring to be very relaxing. I used the Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities.  Below is a video that describes coloring with the blendabilities

Am I Blue Card Swap

I want to share some cards with you today.  These are cards that I received in a Pals card swap.

Some of the Pals who didn't attend convention had  a Card Swap with an "Am I Blue" theme. These Pals were blue because they did not attend convention this year.  The cards needed to contain a shade of blue.

Many thanks to Barbara Chatzkel for facilitating the swap.

Here are the beautiful cards I received in the swap:

For You

If it is Thursday, then it is time to play at PPA.  Follow the link to play:

This week we have a great sketch challenge by Nicole Watt:

If you have been following my posts lately, you have probably noticed that I have been doing many clean and simple cards (CAS).  This is another CAS card.

The colors are Lost Lagoon and Whisper White.  The sentiment and stamped image are from the stamp set About the Label.

I just love this little gift bag image and to make it stand out, I doubled up on the dimensionals.  I used one strand of the white Baker's twine to actually hang the "For You"  tag from the handle of the bag.

Please join us and play along with this week's sketch.

This week's deals

Each week Stampin' Up! has a sale on selected items.  Here are this week's deals:

If you have a Big Shot or any other die cutting machine, I recommend the Bitty Banners framelits set.  I cannot tell you how many times I have used  those banner shapes to dress up my sentiments on a card.  They are especially useful if you make 3 D papercrafts.  They give your project the WOW factor.  Try them out; you won't be sorry.

Pumpkin Pie Peacock

Not a fan of coloring?  Love to fussy cut (when it is an easy cut)?

Well, have I got a project for you!  Here is my Pumpkin Pie Peacock.  Yes, I know, you've never seen a pumpkin colored peacock, but we're artists, we are allowed artistic license, right?
So here it is:

What I did was stamp the Perfect peacock image on this pumpkin colored DSP from the Sweet Taffy collection, using memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The card is sitting on the DSP I used.

Here is a close-up of the stamped DSP:

I also stamped the image on a 4.25" X 11"  piece of Whisper White card stock scored at 5.5".

Then I snipped the tail and wing feathers and paper pieced to the image on the white card stock using the Tombo glue. I cut on the outline of the feathers and let the tendrils show through from the image that was stamped on the white card stock.  The secret to paper snipping is a good pair of paper snips.  You need a pair (like the ones below) with ground tips that cut all the way to the end of the blade.  It makes paper snipping and fussy cutting a breeze.

Of course, then there was some coloring of the leaves and flowers with the blendabilities.  I took a few artistic liberties there also.  So, of course, now I am on the lookout for other DSPs to use so that this Perfect Peacock can shake a mean tail feather!

 Happy Stamping!
